When Nova once again got himself into trouble on his quest to restore Draeldin’s reputation, his master materialized out of the ether to save him from certain doom. Unfortunately, the cost of Nova’s freedom was high – and Draeldin’s life now hangs on the line.

As before, the key to keeping Draeldin alive lies with magical Healing. But every time a person is subjected to such, they risk madness. And Draeldin has been exposed to more magical treatments than most people.

To keep his mind stable throughout the Healing process, Nova once again agrees to enter his master’s dreams. The last time he visited, he flirted with the edge of madness. But Draeldin promised to open a path for him, and Nova has to believe it exists. Especially since Suleroth is too shaken from his last experience to make an attempt.

While Nova makes his mad bid to save Draeldin’s body and mind, Suleroth must ensure the rest of the general’s plans don’t fall to pieces. With so many moving parts to manage, and critical information still missing, the last thing he needs is personal problems serving as a distraction.

But now that Esteryn has melted out of the ether of Suleroth’s past, he doesn’t seem to be going anywhere. Suleroth would like to embrace all the man has to offer – including the potential of a deeper relationship. But first he needs to determine if he can trust his old friend – or if he’s only meant to be a pawn in yet another powerful general’s plan.
